Padma Rao, Blue Lotus
About the plant
Padma rao — in Shipibo tradition the name is linked to blue lotus (Nymphaea caerulea or related species). Blue lotus is an aquatic plant in the Nymphaeaceae family; used in rituals in ancient Egypt and other cultures. In modern Shipibo circles padma rao is introduced into dietas as a plant of relaxation, grounding, and support.
Properties and use
Padma rao is described as a new layer of practice: isolation, restrictions, deep 'communication' with the teacher plant in silence. The line of relaxation and support for participants in deep inner work, including alongside ayahuasca ceremonies. With it an alliance and 'sacred agreement' is established, as with any other teacher.
Use in dietas
Dieta with padma rao is suitable when gentle support without harsh purgation is needed — grounding, openness, restoration of a sense of safety. Often included in retreats as a complement to other plants. Guidance by a maestro familiar with this line.
Precautions
Blue lotus at traditional doses usually does not cause severe reactions; individual sensitivity is possible. Contraindications are general for dietas. Check with the maestro regarding legality and source of the plant in your country.
